About Us

American Legacy’s background dates back to 1987 when Ric Dutton introduced a line of chemically etched metal for the Architectural Signage market. It seemed to be a good fit into the market and over time developed into the go to product for ADA compliant signage that came about in the early 1990’s. The product offered durable signage that was good for interior as well as exterior environments. This product also satisfied the need for economical as well as high end looks in that all metals including Zinc, Aluminum, Brass, Bronze, and Copper could be achieved by implementing faux finishes for all desired looks.

Over the years, American Legacy has continued to grow by introducing new and up-dated methods of manufacturing. In 2018, American Legacy decided to stop the chemical etching process in favor of Precise Milling to accomplish the more exact precision that the Architectural Market demands. This process can be achieved on any metal desired except Stainless Steel. Actual Brass, Bronze, and Copper can be milled as well as Zinc and Aluminum. Faux finishes continue to be available to help achieve budget requirements.

The advent of the Milling process has also allowed the introduction of the product with the benefit of newer and greener methods of manufacturing. American Legacy will always look for newer and better methods.
